How to Tie a Knot to Finish a Row of Hand-Sewing
Share
I think most of us know how to tie a basic knot. But did you know there's another way to tie a knot at the end of your hand-sewing? It's sturdy and neat and, if I do say so myself, a game-changer.
Click the image below for a quick video tutorial.
And here are step-by-step instructions.
Step 1: End your row of stitches on the back side (i.e., the underside) of the fabric. Insert your needle under the last stitch and pull until you have a small loop of thread.
Step 2: Insert your needle into this loop and pull through. You will now see two strands of thread coming out from your last stitch.
Step 3: Insert your needle under these two new strands and pull until you have another small loop of thread.
Step 4: Insert your needle into this loop and pull through until it forms a knot.
